I became interested in music by hearing my father play the guitar. My father was also an arranger, and arranged many songs for the guitar and guitar duets. In addition, he did arrangements for jazz orchestras as well, and this probably fueled my interest in orchestration and instrumentation. During my teen years, I became fascinated by background music for TV shows and, in particular, motion pictures. I made a conscious effort to listen to the music of a film, and analyze what the composer did to musically compliment what was happening on the screen.
